Fund a Student

Turn impossible into I’m possible by sharing your belief that every child has the right to experience achievement in the classroom. Financial aid for a student at The School at McGuire Memorial can provide specialized therapies, curriculum, and equipment to children ages 3-21 with disabilities including those on the autism spectrum.

Here are three ways to help:

  1. Make a contribution to the Mitchell Day Scholarship Fund. Mitchell, a former student and now a Community Home resident, needs you to help him “give back” to the school that holds so many wonderful memories for him.
  2. Join our Honor Roll! Your school, church or civic group can hold its own fundraiser to benefit the McGuire Memorial Scholarship Fund.
  3. Your company may make a financial gift to The School at McGuire Memorial and offset its Pennsylvania tax burden at the same time. Through the Education Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program a business can receive up to a 90 percent tax credit for its contribution to The School at McGuire Memorial.

The State’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program is a tremendous opportunity for every organization. In the past year, because of great tax planning and corporate generosity, The School at McGuire Memorial doubled the funds it received from the previous year to directly assist with scholarship support for students who wish to be enrolled in The School at McGuire Memorial.

EITC funds are critical during this time when school districts are struggling with their budgets. In some cases, The School at McGuire Memorial is often not offered as an option for students who truly need its programs and services as school districts struggle with their fiscal shortcomings.

Scholarship funds will make it possible to keep students enrolled in this very special program and attract others in need of the exceptional instruction and therapies received at The School at McGuire Memorial.

If you have any questions about The School at McGuire Memorial’s participation at EITC, please contact us or call the Foundation office at 724-843-0365. If you would like to schedule a tour of our campus, we would love to arrange a visit for you!
